About
About World Space Launch
A private, independent website about rockets, spaceflight and the people who make it happen.
World Space Launch is a personal project of Randy L. Losey, who has watched launches from the Apollo era to the age of SpaceX. The site brings together the global launch schedule, the day's space news and the history of spaceflight in one place.
ARIA crewmember
Randy L. Losey was an ARIA crewmember. He was the antenna operator on ARIA 60-0374, part of the crew known as PMEE (Prime Mission Electronic Equipment). ARIA 60-0374 is the last of the original 8 ARIA aircraft used for Apollo, and it is on display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. Read more about the aircraft on the history page.
How the site works
- Launches come from the free, community-maintained Launch Library 2 by The Space Devs. Each launch has a short description written by this site from the schedule data, plus a link to the launch provider's mission page or the public data record.
- News stories are found through the free Spaceflight News API. We write our own short summary of each story and link to the original publisher, who owns the article. We do not copy articles or use publishers' photos.
- Images on this site are public-domain photographs from NASA, credited on the credits page, except the personal photo of Randy L. Losey on this page, which is © Randy L. Losey.
- The site is updated daily, and every day's snapshot is kept in the archive.
